Article 1 – Who we are
TAS Taxi (“TAS”, “we” or “us”) is a taxi company based in Amsterdam, active throughout the Netherlands. You can reach us via:

This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website or book a ride with us, why we do so, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Article 2 – What data we collect
When booking a ride via our website we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Pickup and destination address
- Date and time of the ride
- Payment details, if you pay online via iDEAL or credit card. These are processed by our payment provider Stripe; we do not store credit card or bank details ourselves
- Communication you share with us, for example via the contact form or email
When visiting our website, we also automatically collect some technical data, such as your IP address and browser information, insofar as this is necessary for the website to function properly.
Article 3 – What we use your data for
We use your data to:
- Process your booking and carry out the ride
- Send you a confirmation of your booking
- Process payments
- Answer questions and complaints
- Comply with legal obligations, such as our tax record-keeping obligation
We do not use your data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
Article 4 – Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of: the performance of the agreement that arises as soon as you book a ride, compliance with legal obligations such as our financial administration, and our legitimate interest, for example securing our website.
Article 5 – Sharing of data
We never sell your data to third parties. We only share data with:
- Our drivers, insofar as necessary to carry out your ride, such as pickup and destination address and contact details
- Our payment provider Stripe, for processing online payments
- Our hosting provider GoDaddy, for the technical management of the website
These parties may only use your data for the purpose for which we share it.
Article 6 – Cookies
Our website uses functional cookies, for example to remember your booking during checkout and to remember your language preference. We currently do not use cookies for advertising or for third-party analysis of visitor behaviour. Should this change in the future, we will amend this privacy policy accordingly.
Article 7 – Retention period
We do not retain your data longer than necessary. We retain booking and payment data for as long as legally required for our financial administration, in the Netherlands generally 7 years. We retain other data for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Article 8 – Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss or unlawful use.
Article 9 – Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access your data
- Have your data corrected or deleted
- Withdraw your consent
- Object to the processing of your data
- Have your data transferred, also known as data portability
